There are a lot of things that keep my life straight. I would say my wife is one of the biggest help in that area, but there are also things I do each and every day that allow me to function and dominate my day. One of those things is drinking coffee and I find it to be a wonderful addition to my mornings. It helps me to fight off those mental barriers that make me feel tired and physically that is actually what caffeine does. It stops the transmission of the parts of your body that make your brain feel tired. It is a great way for me to wake up quickly and to get right on to doing what I should be doing and that is why I love coffee so much. It not only helps me to stay awake but it is a nice warm way to start the morning. I enjoy the smell and the taste of the lovely brown liquid, but it does have some downfalls. One of the major issues of coffee on my body is the health issues it creates due to acid and staining of teeth. My teeth are indeed a little more yellow than they should be and it is all because of my morning routine of drinking one to three cups of coffee every single day.
There are some things that I know I should be doing and one of those is simply cutting back on coffee drinking. It is hard to break a habit especially one that I feel is essential to my daily routine and the way I wake up. But there are some alternatives that are not as harsh on my teeth. I know that the acid in coffee breaks down my enamel and actually causes the yellowing of my teeth. But I know that I can also get some substitutes to help fight this and one of those is simply drinking more tea.

Tea is a little less acidic and can be non colored. This would allow my teeth to be stronger and to not be as susceptible to staining or the yellowing due to the enamel being rotted away. I am pretty sure I can take a little extra time to brew some tea instead of drinking coffee but it is a whole different routine and a little hard to do. But being good to my body is something that I want to take seriously so it is also something that I am working on doing.

Another option is simply to drink water and to take caffeine pills. This actually eliminates all the bad things about coffee and still gives me the caffeine I need to get through the day. But I am losing one of my favorite parts of the morning and that is the warm joyful feeling that I get from coffee. It really is an addiction and that is what has caused this problem to exist. I know that I am simply drinking too much coffee and that I could end up helping my body by cutting back and simply taking some pills. I have a brother in law that decided to do this and it has helped not only his teeth but overall health and he is a good example of how I can help change my own life.
